From May 6 to 10, 2025, the prestigious Friuli Venezia Giulia International Piano Competition returns to Sacile. Recognized as one of the most esteemed events on the global piano competition circuit, it is organized by the Piano FVG Association under the artistic direction of Maestro Davide Fregona.

The competition unfolds over two distinct phases: the first phase in 2025 with two preliminary rounds, and the second in 2026, featuring a solo round and an orchestral round:
First Round: Tuesday, May 6 to Thursday, May 8 (09:15–13:30 / 15:00–19:30)
Second Round: Friday, May 9 to Saturday, May 10 (10:00–13:30 / 15:00–21:00; afternoon sessions take place only on Saturday)

In both phases, the selected participants—young talents from around the world—will be challenged with a program that includes mandatory works drawn from the finest piano repertoire. These works are designed to test not only technical mastery but also artistic maturity and interpretative depth.

Each performance will be evaluated by an internationally renowned jury composed of world-class pianists and educators:
Anna Kravtchenko (Jury President), Pavel Gililov, Hong Fu, Giuseppe Andaloro, and Muriel Chemin. Their presence reinforces the competition’s international standing and ensures a selection process that is transparent, authoritative, and of the highest quality.

The entire event will take place in the magnificent setting of Palazzo Ragazzoni, enhanced for the occasion by a contemporary stage design created by Federico Cautero, which blends the classical charm of the venue with a modern, engaging visual aesthetic.

The final evening of the 2025 phase will be held on Saturday, May 10 at 8:00 PM, featuring performances by the winners of the Special Prizes and the announcement of the six finalists who will advance to the final round in 2026. During the second phase, these six young pianists will also have the opportunity to perform with an orchestra on the stage of the Zancanaro Theatre in Sacile, in what promises to be a moment of exceptional musical excellence.

The Friuli Venezia Giulia Piano Competition is not only a valuable opportunity for emerging pianists but also a highly anticipated cultural event for a wide and passionate audience. It is an initiative that combines advanced musical education, artistic excellence, and regional promotion, made possible thanks to the support of the Autonomous Region of Friuli Venezia Giulia, the Municipality of Sacile, and numerous cultural institutions and partners.
