Since the 2020 edition, focused on “Musical Diplomacy”, the CEI Piano Forum – organized in Sacile by Piano FVG, during the International Piano Competition – consider Culture and Music a privileged approach to improve intercultural dialogue and civil consciousness, promoting EU’s fundamental values, such as the respect of cultural diversity, over linguistic and ethnic divisions.
These aspects are also at the heart of the Bid Book of Nova-Gorica/Gorizia CEC 2025, an event with a great potential for cultural impact on the territory of FVG, Slovenia and other countries of Central/Eastern Europe.
The focus of the project is in fact “GO! Borderless”, where all possible borders (cultural, linguistic, historical, political, etc.) are intended to fall, to promote maximum osmosis and inclusiveness, creating a new model of civil coexistence, based on the values of the European Union, as announced by “GO! 2025 Cross-border Cultural Strategy”:
“If GO! Borderless really comes to life, we will know and understand each other better, we will understand our points of view and those of others better, and we will also heal different memories to help them coexist.”
“Becoming smugglers of culture, opening our border to the most modern and lively European creations and ideas”.
This “GO! Borderless” idea, within the framework of the CEI Piano Forum 2025, will be able to broaden its vision on perhaps even more ambitious “borders”, that will concern cultural creation/fruition, as collected from the direct experience of young musicians, the public and stakeholders participating in the Forum.

This project, supported by CEI Central European Initiative, will be implemented by some cultural activities.

A) An International CONFERENCE on the “GO! Borderless” themes in the CEI area, in order to submit and exchange good practices to the attention of the audience, composed of by organizers, jury members, competitors, teachers, etc.
The conversation will be led by Chiara Mutton, cultural consultant of Piano FVG.

The contents will concern:
– the “border” within the CEI area, between EU member countries and those still excluded (even if EU candidates)
> discussed with:
the pianist Luka Petrović (Novi Sad / Serbia, 2001)
the pianist Lara Makovac (Rijeka / Croazia, 2003)

– the “border” between artistic and cultural genres (e.g. between classical and contemporary music, between scores of the great repertoire and those of new composition, contaminations between genres and arts, etc.)
> discussed with:
the pianist Łukasz Wilga (Bytom / Poland, 1992), winner of the CEI Special Prize during the Piano FVG International Competition 2023/24, the cellist Chiara Trentin (Udine / Italy, 1991), musician and composer who loves matching classical repertoire and contemporary music

the perception of “borders” from the direct experience of young musicians, the public and stakeholders participating in the Forum: accessibility to culture, audience development, issues related to the gap still existing in gender equality, difficulties in the mobility of artists and culture professionals, etc.
> these are some of the issues that will be explored through a live online public survey (via smartphone, directly involving the public, competitors and stakeholders present at the meeting), which will be followed by analysis and comments provided by experts and testimonials, such as the Jury of the Competition, CEI representatives and Davide Fregona, artistic director of Piano FVG.

At the end of the Conference, the President of the Jury, Anna Kravtchenko (Ukraine/Italy), will announce the names of the pianists admitted to the Second Round of the Piano FVG Competition.

B) The CEI musicians will PERFORM in the evening, after the Conference, during the Piano FVG scheduled events, at the ITLAS ShowRoom in Sacile, playing a Fazioli Piano.
The Concert will be open to the public, upon reservation, until all seats are taken.
